The Comfort Conference is a personal portable infra-red system. All components are housed in the tough carry case for easy transportation to any venue. The infra-red neck loop is for use with a hearing aid set to the 'T' position. The volume control can be varied without affecting others. It has an internal microphone and a digital signal processor for reducing disturbing sounds and enhancing speech. The complete unit comprises of a carry case, microphone/infrared transmitter (wireless sound transmitter) and infrared pick up with neck loop. All units have re-chargeable batteries and dedicated charger units.

How does it work?
The infrared transmitter has an internal microphone that picks up sound. A digital signal processor reduces disturbing sounds and enhances speech. Infrared sound carrier waves are emitted from the transmitter @ 360°, this fills the room with infrared sound waves. The IR carrier sound waves are also reflected by any surface in the room, a bright surface has good reflective properties whilst a dull or dark surface has poor refection. An IR receiver is worn to pick up and decode the infrared carrier waves into sound. Headphones can be worn to assist hearing. Alternatively a neck loop can be worn; this transmits a local magnetic wave to the user of hearing aid set to the 'T' position. The 'T' position on the hearing aid has coil circuit that picks up the magnetic wave from the neck loop and turns it back into sound.

Easy to use
The Comfort Conference infrared transmitter has an inbuilt microphone. The volume control and separate bass and treble controls are easy to use and have clear graphics that are easy to read. The infrared receiver with neck loop is lightweight and small. Wearing the infrared receiver is made easy; the user has the choice of using the belt clip for pocket or belt attachment, or a spectacle cord for hanging around the neck.
